White Collar "Under the Radar" Nitpicks

Season 2, Episode 16 Air Date: March 8, 2011

When you watch a program over and over, you start to notice minor continuity issues, plot oversights and other goofs. This page is not intended to be a criticism aimed toward the show or anyone who works on White Collar. They produce a great show and should be proud of their work. That's why I titled it "Nitpicks" because to nitpick means "to be overly critical or criticize minor details." If it bothers you, please don't read them. This page is intended to be for people who love watching something and going "I never noticed that..."

Quick Draw? When Neal and Peter are being held at gunpoint in Adler's limousine, the gun switches between shots. Not switches hands, but switches types. When the camera is facing Neal and Peter, the gun is a Biretta 92/96. When the camera switches to the gunman on the jump seat, the gun is an IMI Jerico 941.

Overkill? Why does Adler bother to drug Neal, Peter and Alex to and from the warehouse if he planned on killing them? Did he know his men were so inept that they were likely to escape? Adler seems to be too egomaniacal to imagine he wouldn't win...

Oh! Now I get it! Wonder why Alex has a knife hidden in her bra? Seems like an odd thing to have there when you don't know you're going to be kidnapped? When they are in the sub, Alex lifts the knife from one of the bodyguards. That's why she makes a big scene about not wanting to go back in the limo. Right before, she glances down and we get a crotch shot of the bodyguard. (At least I hope that's what the scene was about. Otherwise she was just checking out the bodyguard at a really inappropriate moment.)

Punctuation: The card that Neal receives in his home is missing an apostrophe. It should be "You'll thank me."

Nazi Dynamite seen on White Collar

Dynamite! There has been some speculation about if the writing on the dynamite was correct. According to Jeff Eastin and the DVD commentary it was. According to tj_teejay's live journal it is wrong. I disagree. He might be right about what it should say, but not what it did say. I've done some research and the dynamite in the episode is like the dynamite used by the Germans in World War II. I haven't found any historical pictures. (Apparently, when people come across dynamite their first impulse is not to grab the camera.) But several sites sell historical replicas for World War II reenactments and the dynamite is the same.
