White Collar Deadline
Season 3, Episode 3 Air Date:June 21, 2011

Agent Peter Burke is called in after Helen Anderson, the executive editor at Circumspect magazine, received several death threats. But when Helen refuses FBI protection, Diana must go undercover as Helen's assistant to protect her. Diana discovers Helen is a demanding boss and struggles to balance doing her job as an assistant and doing her job as an FBI agent. Her only option is to recruit the entire FBI to help complete all of the tasks assigned to her. This frees Diana up to stay by Helen side as she meets with a source for a new exposé.

Meanwhile Peter and Neal are working the other side of the story trying to discover what Helen is researching. It leads them to a major drug company, Prager & Vaughn, and their latest drug Zybax. Peter poses as an FDA agent and puts pressure on Paul Sullivan, the head of new product development. It leads them to discover a cover-up involving a bad batch of Zybax, P&V's latest drug. One of P&V's associates tried to bring this story to Helen, but was killed before he could give her the information. Although they are unable to save Helen's source, Diana manages to rush in at the last minute and save Helen. In a side story, Neal finally gets to meet Diana's significant other, Christie. “I don't need a byline. In my interview, I told you I knew who I was and where I wanted to be. That's right here.” – Diana

Highlights

The Cons

Jones calls Amy Sullivan at P&V (extension 2614) and poses as her neighbor claiming her dog, Sir Boots Barkley, has gotten out of her apartment. This allows Neal access to her desk.

Neal mentions Wally Burns to Sara so she'll distract Diana for him while he questions Christie about Diana's recent activities.

Interesting Facts

The voice of the robot (at the birthday party) was done by the sound mixer Mark, who was voice of Twiki on Buck Rodgers.

The accent that Diana "fakes" is the real accent of Marsha Thomason.
