Peter and Neal discover a corrupt judge working with Fowler, and devise a plan to take them down. Meanwhile, Neal asks Peter to get a message to Kate as Mozzie sweeps Peter's house for bugs. At the end of the episode, Neal retrieves a paper flower from the grave of Kate's father, Robert Monroe, another cryptic message from Kate. The Cons

Mozzie distracts a courier so Neal can intercept a package and use a magnet to erase the tape inside. He then hands the package to the real courier.

Neal trashes Judge Clark's office to make her think it has been searched to get her to move the money she has hidden there.

Neal and Peter con Fowler into confronting Judge Clark when she moves the money. They then present a arrest warrant that he had "signed" to force his hand.

Interesting Facts

Neal mentions the Met ha a Matisse he is fond of. The MET actually has 532 paintings by Matisse in its permanent collection.

Character Information

The Bad Guy

Garrett Fowler is using Judge Michelle Clark to sign warrants that other judges might throw out. For more information on Fowler, check out Major Players.

Judge Michelle Clark is a federal judge who deals with mortgage frauds. She signed all the warren's Fowler used to investigate Neal in Free Fall. Her I.D. number is 476. She tries to hide money she got from mortgage fraud in a deposit box at Certified National Bank. After she was arrested, she plea bargained out and confessed to mortgage fraud for a reduced sentence.

Kate Clues

Neal asks Peter to get a message to Kate. He returns with the message "see Robert." Neal goes to the graveyard where Robert, Kate's father, is buried and finds an origami flower.



"How was the Guggenheim?"

The Guggenheim museum is an art museum located at 1071 Fifth Avenue in New York.

"I saw a rumination on the physicality of space and the nature of sculpture."

Neal went to see Richard Serra's The Matter of Time at the Guggenheim. It is on permanent display at the museum according to their website.

"They have this fantastic Matisse I've always admired. It's on the second floor, right near the fire exit."

Henri Matisse was a French artist known for his use of color and his fluid and original draughtsmanship.

"Yeah, you do, Peter Pan."

Peter Pan is a character created by J. M. Barrie. He is a mischievous boy who refuses to grow up.

"Vague, in a Zen kind of way."

Zen is a school of Mahāyāna Buddhism that believes enlightenment can come through meditation and intuition.

"That tape is my 'Get out of Jail Free' card."

A reference to the game of Monopoly. The term is often applied to things that allow you to get out of a bad situation fairly easily.

"Is this Gorham Silverware? It's rather unique."

Gorham was one of the largest silver manufacturing plants in the world. More recently, it has been sold of to other companies.

"Oh, a Baccarat vase."

Baccarat is a company that makes fine crystal. A Baccarat vase can sell for anywhere between a couple hundred to over $10,000.

"But it's actually a high-grade degaussing magnet."

Degaussing is the process of decreasing or eliminating an unwanted magnetic field. It is named after Carl Friedrich Gauss, an early researcher in the field of magnetism.

"All hope abandon, ye who enter here."

This is a famous line from Dante Alighieri's epic poem La Divina Commedia or The Divine Comedy. In original Italian the line is "Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate."
